Dropbox 2.1 for iOSFor many of us, Dropbox has become a tool so vital, we wonder how we ever lived without it. Thankfully, the company continues to make the service even more crucial, including a slick iOS update today.

Dropbox has released version 2.1 of its free, universal iOS app on Friday, bringing a trio of features that users are likely to be quite pleased to see.

The latest version introduces an all-new PDF viewer that allows pages to be viewed one at a time or in a grid, making it easy to jump straight to the page you want for larger documents. Even better, the app includes a search tool for finding results within your PDF documents as well.

For those who utilize shared folders often, Dropbox 2.1 for iOS can now be set up to send push notifications whenever someone shares a folder with you. (You'll get a prompt after opening the new version -- click OK and you're all set.) No more having to keep open the app over and over again waiting for it to appear, or learning about it from some old-school method like email.

Last but not least, the app now allows users to sort files from newest to oldest as well as alphabetically, a new feature that can be found by scrolling to the top and tapping the sort option at  upper left.

Dropbox 2.1 for iOS is now available from the App Store as a free download; the app is compatible with all devices running iOS 5.0 or later.
